An 18ct yellow gold Francois Borgel wrist watch, circa 1900, white enamel dial with black and red Roman numerals, black hands with a subsidiary second dial and a Baume & Co manual movement. The watch and case were made in Geneva by Francois Borgel. The Borgel case was an early attempt to make wrist watches resistant to dust and moisture. The case is hallmarked F.B with the key of Geneva together with Geneva hallmarks and the import mark of the Leo zodiac which indicates the watch was imported, assayed & Hallmarked in the London Assay office in the early 1900's, W 32 mm
