Joel's White elephant sale

A fascinating collection of elephants and tribal artefacts belonging to collector Bob White will be auctioned from 2pm Thursday September 17 at Leonard Joel 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

The collection includes elephants in various forms and guises including a Royal Doulton figure, in the form of an early 20th century drink set and as a pincushion complete with hat pins.

Other interesting items include Asian elephant incense burners, bone inlaid elephant figures, elephant bridges and late 19th century elephants complete with howdahs. 

Three is even an elephant shaped table lighter and pipe sculptures of elephants fighting.

Does Hermes appeal?

Pre-owned luxury items featuring creations by Hermes, Pucci, Etro, Lulu Guiness, Burberry and many other designers will be auctioned from Thursday May 14 by Leonard Joel at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

Included in the auction are silk scarves, handbags, suitcases, bangles, bowls, atomisers, chargers, ties and vintage brooches.

Beatles photographic memorabilia to be sold by Leonard Joel

Unique black and white photos taken in 1964 of the Beatles appearing the Ed Sullivan Show, on their way by train to a Washington performance and arriving in Adelaide are among an unusual collection of entertainment memorabilia auction from noon Thursday May 7.

 

The auction, by Leonard Joel at 333 Malvern Road South Yarra, feature the Beatles at press conferences, in hotels, in concert and travelling during the start of their phenomenal success as the world’s leading pop band of the 1960s and 1970s.

Other interesting and valuable photographs in the collection include Marilyn Monroe taken in 1947 for Bluebells Modelling by Joseph Jasgur and a picture of Sean Connery as James Bond with Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson on the set of Goldfinger.
