A Clarice Cliff Bizarre 'Islands' pattern part dinner service, comprising nine each dinner plates, entree plates and salad plates, six bread and butter plates, nine soup bowls, a covered soup tureen and one other with cover missing, a butter dish, six tea cups and saucers, three coffee cups and saucers, a milk jug and saucer, three graduated oval platters and a fruit plate, each centred by a stylised cartouche showing an island and foliate motifs within pastel blue borders on a cream ground, blue factory marks and impressed underglaze 35 and diamond to reverse.
