Mounted photo of Melbourne circa 1862, inscribed (on mount below) Exhibition, Hospital, Library, Jail, 24.5 x 35 cm, The image, by an unknown photographer, features Astley's Amphitheatre (name painted-out on roof) in the foreground. This places the view as being from Spring Street at the corner of Little Bourke Street, Astley's later became the first Princess Theatre. Also shown are the Victoria Coal & Wood Depot and Carr & Son., Upholsterers.
