A Vienna porcelain allegorical plate, circa 1880, a plate painted in the classical manner depicting a scene of Aphrodite mourning Adonis, surrounded by beaded gilt borders and a cobalt band delicately painted with stylised acanthus and amphorae, and four black medallions with floral urn motifs; an underglaze beehive mark underside and partial title.
