A Carlton Ware 'New Chinese bird & Cloud' vase, 1929-1933, pattern 3322, shape 457, the baluster shaped vase with a fantastic phoenix flying across an orange cloud and boldly sprigged with multi coloured flowers and flurries of gilded tendrils upon a deep blue ground, with gilded borders to the rim, the interior in a pearl lustre glaze; backstamps, painted pattern and impressed shape numbers underside. Height 19.5 cm
