A contemporary handcrafted 'Penguin Playground' ring, centrally set with a lace agate pool of ice with a dreamscape cut aquamarine iceberg above, having two penguins and diamond detail to the edges, encased in a synthetic sapphire dome, mounted in an elaborate frame set with round brilliant cut diamonds totalling 2.50cts and blue sapphires of graduated hues totalling 8.00cts, mounted in 18ct white gold, ring size S. This ring was created for the 2012 Australasian Jewellery Awards by Ewen Ryley. The piece was announced as a finalist in the coloured gemstone category.
