A forty piece Wileman & Co Japan Imari tea service, circa mid 1880s, Alex shape pattern number 3737. A setting for twelve with cups, associated saucers and side plates, two sandwich or cake plates, a creamer and a sugar bowl, all of quatrefoil ribbed design with scalloped edging and decorated with panels of oriental blooms and Satsuma style motifs upon alternate blue and white panels; given to the vendor's great grandmother as a wedding present; backstamps underside, registration and painted pattern numbers
