Patek Philippe A rare 18ct gold rectangular centre seconds electronic wristwatch with Beta-22 movement 8176 and date ref 3603 case 2732441 made in 1974 Beta-22 quartz movement, 13 jewels, midnight blue brushed dial, applied gold baton indexes, aperture for date at 6 o'clock, gold dauphine hands, sweep centre seconds, raised bezel, hidden lugs, snap on back engraved with M DE B A R M 14-9-1974, case, dial and movement signed with 18ct gold Patek Philippe buckle, length 37 mm. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming sale on 27 August 1974 and presentation case. Other Notes: Reference 3603 was in production from 1973 until 1982 and is together with references 3587 and 3597 amongst the largest rectangular wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe., the Beta-21 and subsequent Beta-22 calibre was developed by a consortium of watch companies, including Patek Philippe, at the Swiss Electronic Research centre or CEH (Centre Electronique Horloger) in Neuchatel. It was the first quartz movement for wristwatches with analogue display.
