A rare early Macintyre Moorcroft cornflower design teapot, registered in 1897 with 'Esso Faience' mark to base, recorded as an early example of Moorcroft slip decoration, cobalt blue ground, the silver plate hinged lid requiring attention, printed and painted marks to base, damage to spout end. See 'Moorcroft A Guide to Moorcroft Pottery 1897-1990' by Paul Atterbury published 1990, pge 34, photo 4 for a similar example.
