An exceptional Flight Barr & Barr urn 'The Monk', 1813-1820, the urn with gilded handles, fine and rare enamel jewelling and beading to the waisted neck and body, with a portrait roundel of the monk illustrating a verse from Sterne, and to the reverse a bouquet including passionflower and other summer blooms upon a gilded and cobalt ground; backstamps underside and with notations from Sterne.
