A large Chelsea figure emblematic of 'Hearing', circa 1760, a young seated woman holding a lute and a conch shell with a doe at her feet in puce, sky blue and green colours with a low glaze; bearing a gold anchor mark to the reverse; similar models held in the collection of the Cecil Higgins Museum, Bedford and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
