A Japanese Satsuma sixteen lobed bowl, Meiji period (1868-1912), decorated in gilt and enameled with butterflies amongst exotic flowers, and a peacock in the center. Four characters seal 'Ikeda Gomei-Gaisya Kintei'. 24.5 cm diameter . Provenance: 1. Collection of Iro Sismani, actress and choreographer (1922-2012), Athens. Purchased whilst performing in Paris with her dance troupe during 1940's.
