A fine Regency musical automata clock by James Smith, circa 1820. In a mahogany case with an eight day fuse movement and verge escapement, hour strike and twelve bells; the arched brass dial with subsidiary dials for tune sections and strike silent, the automated scene depicting a village market procession with musicians and noble family with hunting dogs and horns, the case with caryatid and scroll ormolu and brass mounts with red silk backed pierced frieze and brass carry handles to the sides, 33 cm width x 21 cm depth x 65.5 cm height.Provenance: Appraised by G E Marsh antique Clocks Winchester UK, 1983.
