Meissen 19th century 'The Capture of the Tritons' figure group modelled by J.J. Kandler, formed as Venus & her attendant kneeling on a rock, hauling a fishing net in which a protesting young triton has been caught among a catch of fish, Cupid to the side assisting with the catch, on a rock base applied with bulrushes, a lobster, a frog, shells, corals & reeds. Some restorations & losses. Height 32 cm
