World War I group of three awarded to Pte. Robert Leslie Eames MM 6th Battalion & 2nd Australian Light Trench Mortar Battery, including: Military Medal (GVR), 1914-1915 Star and British War Medal all impressed '3143 Pte. R.L. Eames 6/Bn. A.I.F.'; and an unrelated World War I Victory medal, in Common mount with ribbon bar; colour patch; Rising Sun collar and cap badges; 2 x shoulder Titles (all believed to have been taken from Eames' body and returned to his family); and a hand tinted photograph of Eames in an unmarked World War I uniform; with extensive paperwork, including Copies of Eames' war Records and a framed photograph of His Grave At the Rue-du-Bois British military Cemetery, vieux Berquin, France (A Lot) Citation for military medal: 'For Conspicuous Gallantry and Devotion to Duty During the Attack East of Ypres on the 20th September, 1917. He Brought up Mortars to forward Positions under very heavy Enemy fire and Kept up the ammunition Supply under very Difficult Conditions. The excellent service Rendered by These Mortars Assisted very Greatly in Making complete the Reduction of Enemy Strong points and Breaking up His counter Attacks.'
