Boer war Mafeking Siege two Shilling Banknote. No. B9608,'Issued by Colonel R.S.S. Baden-Powell Commanding the Rhodesian Forces', with facsimile signature of Capt. H. Greener Chief Paymaster the Siege of Mafeking Took place between 1899-1900 During the second Boer war and Led to a Famous Victory for the British. Col. Baden-Powel Commanded a small Force of Locally Gathered Troops to Defend the key border Town of Mafeking. Supplies and Currency were in short Supply So Temporary Banknotes were Issued that Could be Redeemed At the Local Bank.
