A Ming style celadon-glazed ewer, the pear-shaped body supported on a short straight foot, rising to a slender waisted neck with broad everted mouth, set on one side with a slender upright spout joined to the side with a shaped strut opposite the bold strap handle, the sides carved with scrolling peony below a foliate scroll and upright stiff leaves, covered overall in a sea-green glaze except for the square-cut foot rim, 31.5 cm high
