A Sino-Tibetan gilded-bronze Buddha Shakyamuni or Akshobhya, 18th/ 19th century seated in dhyanasana on a stepped-lotus base with hands in bhumisparshamudra and a vajra before him, clad in a diaphanous robe with beaded borders incised with a chevron pattern, the gentle face centred by a raised urna and surmounted by a high ushnisha, backed by an mandorla worked with trio of figures of demon riding elephant, and then a makara, on both sides, supporting a garuda at the apex, all within a flaming border, incised double-vajra to the base, 26.5 cm high
