A serving dish in the Sevres manner, 19th to 20th century, of shaped oval form, the bowl having a central transfer design of a scene from 'The Odyssey' by Friedrich Preller but oversigned 'Andrea Appiani' (but in another later hand), and to the borders, overglaze transfers of trailing roses and cornflower interspersed with festoons, between gilt on apple green borders; overglaze Sevres style mark underside and impressed numerals 1,400 over 23.
