A 'Longquan' celadon bowl, Ming Dynasty with rounded sides springing from a short tapering foot, the interior carved with scrolling peony sprays radiating from a central medalliion, and with further flowering sprays on the exterior below a foliate meander encircling the rim, all beneath an olive-green glaze, the base with an unglazed ring around a central recess, burnt orange in the firing, 31.5 cm
