A fine and rare set of twelve 19th century Japanese carved ivory mythical masks depicting Nio, Oni, Hannya and Tengu with others contained in an original wooden box. All with inlaid shell, brass and black coral eyes. the lid inlaid with five shibayama floral medallions, small losses to inlay. Ex Gilbertson collection sold by Webb's early 1980's. Length 20 cm. Width 18 cm
