Description:
A late Victorian English combination barograph and clock eight day fusee drive clock with half seconds. Pendulum drives the vertical chart drum and taps the barometer every hour. The aneroid barometer is linked by a fusee watch chain over a pulley to a pointer and pencil lead which records the pressure. Both with silvered dials and signed Frank Hyams, Dunedin. Frank Hyams was a prominent watchmaker and jeweller at 14 Princess Street and he also maintained a workshop in London at 167 new Bond Street. The glass fronted walnut case has a hinged door and also contains a thermometer in Fahrenheit degrees. Designed for use in clubs, public libraries and for general meteorological observers.
