Le Garde-Meubl,e Ancien et Moderne was an influential bimonthly interior design periodical published in Paris in the mid-19th century. It featured elegant French furniture, draperies and decorating accessories as well as illustrations of room settings and decor. The illustrations were executed with such detail that they were used by British and American craftsmen to stay abreast of the latest ideas in decorating, it flourished in a time when French design was widely regarded as the epitome of sophistication and quality.
