A Russian silver snuff box with niello decoration, oblong shape, the hinged lid wall and base decorated with foliate tendrils and panels, gilt washed interior with assay marks for Moscow 1845, assayer Andrei Kovalsky, script maker's mark AK and 84 zolotniks (.875 standard), thumb piece absent. 8.5 cm x 3.6 cm x 25. Weight 108gms.
