1910 (Jan.11) letter from Edward Evans on 'British Antarctic Expedition, 1910' letterhead, to Conrad P. Fry (of J.S. Fry & Sons, who were to supply the Expedition with chocolate & cocoa). Evans informs him of the plans for Scott and himself to visit Bristol [where the Fry head office was] but that the forthcoming 'election week is the worst possible time (for fund-raising)..... I am personally of the opinion that a personal canvass is generally more effective than any form of general appeal, and I know Captain Scott agrees.'
