Don Bradman's Bat From the 1931-32 Australia v South Africa Test Series: 'Sykes - Don Bradman' full size Cricket Bat, signed 'Don Bradman/Private' in the ownership position on reverse, (soiled and darkened, sliver lacking at base, lacking waxed string strengthening band). in the 1931-32 Australia v South Africa Test series, Bradman scored 806 runs, with a high score of 299 not out, and an average of 201.5. Together with a photocopy of a letter from Sir Donald Bradman, dated 20th Jan.1998, where he States, 'You Are Apparently Lucky Enough to Have One of My Old Bats. The Use of the Word 'Private' on the back was merely to indicate that it was my personal bat to distinguish it from the team bats. I apparently used it against the South Africans in 1932'. Also enclosed is a copy of a letter from the original vendor to Richie Benaud outlining the provenance of the bat.
