Doug Walters' Australian 'Baggy Green' 1967-68 Test Cap, green wool, embroidered Coat-of-Arms & '1967-68' on front, signed inside & on brim 'Doug Walters'. Fine condition. Doug Walters, one of Australia's most popular cricketers, played 75 Tests 1965-81. He scored more than 1000 runs in his first 11 Tests, including centuries in his first two Tests, against England, in 1965-66. In the 1967-68 series v India he scored 254 runs at an average of 127.00 (He only played the last two Tests, his return delayed by national service). When he retired in 1981, only three Australians had made more Test runs - Greg Chappell, Don Bradman and Neil Harvey. The pleasure he brought to the crowds, especially at his home ground, the SCG, has been recognised with the erection of 'The Doug Walters Stand'
