A pair of Satsuma earthenware vases, hexagonal section, ovoid shape with short trumpet mouth and a spreading circular foot, finely painted with an encircling procession of geisha and samurai, fan shaped panels of diaper pattern decorates the shoulder in polychrome and gilt. Two character mark ‘Satsuma’ along with Shimazu mon in gilt under the base of each. Height 18 cm
