Barbara Reid (Born Circa 1964) Women's Ceremony synthetic polymer paint on canvas 62 cm high, 58 cm wide 'Minyma Tingari' demonstrates the relationship between the ceremony's of women and the natural landscape. 'Minyma Tingari' also describes the role of women as healers and providers within the Ngaanyatjarra society. Catalogue Note: the women are represented by small 'U shapes and the wider 'U' shapes are the windbreaks surrounding them. Barbara also depicts the native bush apple, 'Pintalypa' which is symbolised by oval shapes usually painted in red ochre.
