A French Directoire-style mahogany desk, first half 20th century, the rectangular top lined with gilt-tooled cloth above a central frieze drawer and a pair of pedestals, each with three drawers, the opposing side with conforming false drawer fronts, raised on tapering square-section supports, with gilt metal mounts and inlaid bands of kingwood throughout. Height 75 cm. Width 130 cm. Depth 70 cm.
