A Copeland and Garrett 'Tobacco Leaf' stoneware platter. Early 1830s, rectangular with chamfered corners and raised sides, in under-glaze blue with over-glaze enamels in the Imari palette, the underside impressed 'Spode's New Stone' with the encircled x mark and with an under-glaze blue C. and G. 'Late Spode' mark with an illegible number. Width 41.5 cm. Depth 31 cm.
