A very fine Japanese cloisonne Koro and pierced cover, circa 1890, decorated in two large panels with various birds by a stream, a ho-ho bird within a broad band below each upright handle, with a continuous stylised chrysanthemum scroll on the remainder of the body and the three supporting legs, all within silver wires, unsigned, probably by Hayashi Kodenji. 24 cm high, 20 cm diameter
