A finely painted yellow ground vase, Jiaqing mark and period (1796-1820), painted with panels of flowers and calligraphy. Height 36 cm. Literature: see: Sothebys Melbourne, 29-30 November 2005, lot 615, for a yellow-ground Jiaqing vase of almost identical shape, but without panels, reputedly from the Summer Palace, Peking, the reference says; 'The Jiaqing Emperor especially favoured wares densely decorated with floral scroll design in famille rose enamels on a yellow ground. Wares of this form were made for special celebratory occasions that included birthdays'
