A full taxidermied banded rail, in standing pose with wings slightly raised, mounted on a wooden block with old moss. Length 260. Height 150. Note: a protected native species with approximately 2000 birds remaining in the wild, found mainly in the North Island coastal mangrove swamps, a very secretive bird rarely seen.
