A Japanese wakazashi in ox-blood red and nashiji and textured lacquer saya. The blade (48.4 cm) with distinct hamon and slight areas of oxidation. The iron tsuba with open work decoration of crows perched and in flight. The silk bound haft (not removed) with shakudo fuchi carved with waves and gilded seashells, the gilt metal menuki of dragons entwined about a double edged sword. Overall in saya 70 cm.
