A 20th century Maori carved tewhatewha of reddish-brown stained light wood. The tapering shaft carved with a profile head with inlaid paua shell eyes at the mid point, the blade carved with designs derived from kowhaiwhai and a koruru head to either side. Bunches of hawk feathers suspended from the blade extension. Length 119 cm
