A Japanese grey sandstone stele, Edo periodcarved with a figure of Buddha Amitabha seated in dhyanasansa with arms folded in dhyanamudra, a contemplative expression with gentle smile and wearing a loose robe, on his right a figure of the monk Kobo Daishi depicted holding his dorje and rosary, both are seated beneath an overhanging gable, raised on a pedestal base carved with scrolling leaf motifs, 57 cm wide 22 cm deep 76 cm high
