An ebonised tantalus with cut crystal decanters, circa 1865, the cubic sarcophagus shaped lidded box with a Sheffield plate Crown and lion paw finial above inscribed Salutem Sola Virtute (salvation by virtue alone), the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior containing twin decanters each engraved Ascot cup day 1865 and with General Peel and Ely respectively, 35 cm high.
