1962 British Commonwealth games in Perth, silver Winner’s medal, with chain, '1962 VII British Empire and Commonwealth games/ Perth/ Western Australia', engraved on reverse 'Fencing/ Sabre Teams/ J.Andru/ Canada', 58 mm diameter. Very attractive and scarce. [John Andru (born 1933 in Toronto) represented Canada in the 1964 Tokyo and the 1968 Mexico city Olympic games. He represented Canada and won bronze twice in the pan-American games (1959 and 1967). In 1965 he was awarded the Syl Apps Award. Canadian Olympic hall of Fame inductee 1976]
