An emerald and diamond cross, formerly the property of the late Ava Gardner, the emerald Latin cross set in silver with a cushion shaped emerald cut en cabochon with rose cut diamond set claws, the two long and two short arms each set with emeralds graduated to each apex, interspaced with silver scrolls set with rose cut diamonds, all mounted to a yellow gold frame with a pendant bale and removable brooch fitting. Provenance: formerly the property of the film actress the late Ava Gardner. Reputedly given to her as a gift by crooner and actor Frank Sinatra, the cross was Lot 305 from, the Ava Gardner collection, sold at Sotheby's London, in 1990
