A 19th century Itailian marble figure titled Messaccio D'Amore, modelled as a semi-draped classical female in contrapposto stance, releasing a dove, raised on a naturalistic base. Height 76 cm. Provenance: part of the original furnishings of Ellerslie, Hampden Road batterypoint, Hobart, which was the residence of Joseph Zellig Bidencope (1837-1915)
