A cloisonne wisteria vase, Meiji period circa 1895 Signed by the master Kumeno Teitaro (1865-1939) On a silver body, of ten lobed baluster form, decorated with hanging wisteria flowers and vine leaves on a cobalt blue ground, 18 cm high. Note: Kumeno Teitaro pioneered the technique of hammering the silver foundation very thin so that enamels would not crack during expansion and contraction of the metal
