Description:
Signed Komai box, with all over vine leaf decoration, probably used to contain incense wood. It includes as an accessory a tray decorated in gilt with iris and a duck framed in vine laves, the interior of the upper section is gilded and engraved with egrets and other aquatic birds. Two small storage drawers are in the lower section, the crest on the lid has water plantain leaves contained in a circle. Base marked Komai Kyoto with a Japanese mark. 6 x 9 x 7 cm
