1927 Royal Visit to Australia: Autograph letter written by the future Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother) as Duchess of York, from her residence at 145 Piccadilly, to Madame Handley Seymour, regarding the cost of her wardrobe for the Royal visit to Australia, 'I wonder whether you would have my Australian bill sent to me, as i must look through it before i buy anything else, and as Suzanne is away i must ask you for it. I would like to tell you that i was delighted with my clothes, and there was only one or two that did not suit or fit - perhaps as suzanne is gone, you will look through the bill, and see that it is not too vast. Yours Sincerely, Elizabeth'. (Madame Handley Seymour had designed the Duchess's wedding dress in 1923, and later the Coronation dress in 1937)
