Late 19th century rare Maori feather kete Whakairo bag. Woven from harakeke and worked on both sides with a panelled design of white, green, black, orange and brown feathers. Label inside stating, 'Featherwork from New Zealand ', there is also a card inside stating the origins of the feathers and a calling card for 'Devonshire house, Rotorua' from the early 20th century This kete was discovered in England. Height 21 cm. Width 19 cm
