A rare late 18th century Captain Cook period fish hook (Matau). Wooden shank limb with wonderful carved tiki face, also carved snood knob and bait cleat, bone point with serrations. Lashed snood and line. Similar fish hooks are in the British Museum. Length 14 cm (not including line)
