A large and impressive mid 18th century English ebonised twelve-tune musical bracket clock, George Graham, London, surmounted by a large flambe finial on a bell shaped caddy over a double stepped plinth set with eight graduated finials, with pierced sound frets over a pair of side handles and further sound frets on a plinth base banded in brass and set on ogee bracket feet, the 9 inch arched brass dial with silvered plaque giving the choice of twelve tunes to include 'Ld. Hoods Delight; Madrigal; William Far Away; Air by Handell (Sic); Astley's Hornpipe; Should Ye Rude hand of care; Forest Hunt; Maid of the mill; Malbrone; Richmonds Minuet; Mirth and Glee and Robinson Crusoe', over a painted moon phase showing the age of the moon, the applied Roman and Arabic chapter ring with subsidiaries in the corners for strike/not strike and chime/not chime, with pierced scroll spandrels, the signed silvered centre engraved with foliage and set with a date aperture, the substantial triple fusee movement with verge escapement playing on thirteen bells and twenty five hammers, with foliate-engraved backplate shaped at the upper corners to accommodate the 28.5 cm, long pinned barrel, with hour repeat and tune repeat cords to either side.
