Of Northern Territory Interest:- a Victorian silver salver, by Martin & Hall, London 1880, of shaped circular outline, engraved inscription 'Presented to Mr E. H. Whitelaw, by officers of the Northern Territory section of Overland Telegraph as a mark of Esteem on His Promotion to another branch of the civil service, port Darwin Sept. 1881,' within engraved scroll cartouches of fruit and flowers and a beaded leaf and shell rim raised on three ball and claw feet fitted case. Diameter 32 cm, weight 29oz, weight 910gms.
