A Queen Anne musical longcase clock, by Joseph windmills, London, circa 1705, the arched top with a moulded cornice above a pierced fretwork panel above an arched glazed door flanked by plain columns with brass mounts, with pierced carved sound frets to either side above a long door and cross-banded base with a stepped plinth, the 12 inch dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, seconds subsidiary dial and date aperture, cast bronze cherub and Crown spandrels, with a twelve tune selector in the form of a sunburst design, with an 8 day movement with twelve tunes playing on twelve bells and twenty three hammers, four repeat five pillar movement strikes the hour and plays selected tunes three times every third hour;. Height 249 cm ' note, the twelve tunes: (1), the Grenadier March; (2), the Rummer; (3), the Spanish Jig; (4) A Brigadoon; (5), the three Generals Health; (6) A young Virgin of Fifteen; (7) an English Sibel; (8) Sweet is our Blessing; (9), the Mouse trap; (10), the Happy clown; (11) bright Arcadia; (12), the beautiful Phillis.
